This is the final reading of Great Expectations. Yeah! All of my questions are now answered about the book. Except that I have one question about Pip and Estella. I wonder how they go from never wanting to be together again to now wanting to never leave each other. I also wonder how it was such co incidint that they randomly meet in a graveyard and see each other and now want to be together and love each other just like that.
When i heard about how Joe came to London to care for Pip and nurish him back to health it made made me think about if anyone would do that for me. Even if the one that came back to help me hated me for what i did to them and how I treated them. Or if I would ever do that for some one special or just a friend that did things to me to make me mad. Joe did that for Pip even though Pip did many bad things to him and treated him badly, it shows how much Joe actually cares for Pip and how much he loves him, even through things like that.
This book was an OK book with many ups and downs in it and many places that you had to struggle through, but in the end it was very touching and answered everything that you wondered about and showed what true friends really are and what true love is.

Blog 6
Pip has kind of gotten over Estella by now and justs want her to be happy and live her own lifestyle and to be happy. I still think that Pip is Jealous of her husband though and still wants her back. Molly somewhat reminds Pip of his love. When i found out that Molly and Magwitch weer the parents of Estella I was kind of surprised about this. A weird part that I came across was when Jaggers ensured that his client on trial that his daughter will get into a safe place to live. Why would anyone ever do that unless they don't want to see their kid ever again.
Pip and Miss Havisham used to have a really close relationship, but throughout the book it has changed Miss Havisham now wants everything from Pip. Orlick hasn't shpw up again in the book again and personally I hope that he won't again at all.

Great Expectations pages 235-292
In these pages that we have read this week, I start to wonder about Estella and Pip and sometimes while reading I laugh at what is going on between them. Pip and Estella have a really uncommon relationship in which Estella likes Pip, but only when Pip is around she never seems to act like it and just ignores him. Miss Havisham though in a way directs who Estella is to love. Pip also feels jealous because of how everyone around chases after Estella and all of the activities that she does in which Pip does not like. Also it is becaus eof all the guys that chase Estella around.
When I found out that the convict in which Pip had helped was going to be the man who teaches him to become a gentleman i was quite surprised. Once in Pips life he used to live a very comfortable and peaceful life. Now he is with Magwitch and is also threatened by her and she also threatens other people around her.
In these pages that we have read Magwitch tells Pip and Herbert a story about his past and also mentions Compeyson who brought Magwitch to be what he is today. Eventually they figure out that Compeyson was the guy who didn;t show up for his wedding with Miss Havisham. Later on Pip decides that he wants to leave forever and leave Estella behind forever too. So he travels to the Satis house and says goodbye to Miss Havisham one last time and to Estella. He tells Estella that he loves her, but she doesn't care because she has already decided to marry Drummle.

Great Expectations pages 176-235
In these pages that we have read in Great Expectations at the beginning Pip travels home hoping to see Estella and apologize to Joe. I think this is greatly needed because of how rude he treated Joe before he left for London. While Pip was on his coach ride home he noticed that he was with the two convicts that were at the pub while he was there too. I myself thought that something would happen between Pip and the convicts, but to my surprise the covicts didn't even notice Pip. Pip then got off at the nearest stop which was still inside city limits. When Pip goes over to the Satis house he realizes that Estella has turned into a fine young lady and that he is starting to love her even more now. The one thing that I find odd though is that Miss Havisham is telliing Pip to keep on loving her, and I think that Pip shouldn't have to be told who to love.
The next Day Orlick is fired from Miss Havisham's place. it all happened after Pip told Jaggers about his past life. Later Pip reutrns to london and isn't in all that good of a mood. The next day Herbert confesses to Pip that he is in love with a woman, but he is too poor to marry her. I myself think that is sad for the reason that you love someone enough to marry them, but you can't becasue you are too poor.
A while later in this reading Estella sends Pip a note that says to meet her at the nearest train station in London. This made me wonder if there was going to be something that happened, something that would change the momentum of the book. After they met Pip thought were on the road to becoming married.
Pip later on finds out that his sister Mrs. Joe is dead. Pip then travels home to attend the funeral. And he is also very upset about the death of his sister. Pip is trying to fix his relationship problems with Biddy, and also says he will come home more often to visit. I wonder to myself if he actually will stick with what he says.
At the end of our reading we learn that Pip has his twenty-first birthday. I had no idea that Pip was this old. Pip is certain the he was sent to London by Miss Havisham. Maybe it is so, but if it is I think that the reasoning for it is so that Estella and Pip can get married. I guess I'll find out later on in my readings.

Great Expectations pages 113-176
In these chapters we find out that Pip is going to London. he visits Miss Havisham one last time before he leaves just to say goodbye and to thank her for what she has done for him. On the other hand I thought he was really rude to the other people he said so long to. Later on Pip regrets being so rude to them and for what he said to them. He is also mean to Joe beforehe leaves which nows he really regrets it. I would regret it too if the person you are mean to has done so much for you in the past.
One thing I wonder about this book is if Mr. Jagers will teach Pip to become a gentlemen and show him what he knows. Also i wonder if Mr. Jagers will show Pip how to become as well known as himself and to be as powerful and to make an impact in London and become well-known.
In London the pale young gentleman shows back up again. You know the one who picked a fight with Pip and Pip knocked him up. Herbert and Pip to me have a different relationship. Herbert is teaching Pip table manners and they both room together. Will their relationship grow in the future or will something tear them apart?

Great Expectations pages 56-113
In our second reading from Great Expectations things are all starting to fall into place and it is all starting to make sense to me and it seems like more things are starting to fall together to connect the puzzle. One of the things that I wondered about in this section was the relationship between Estella and Pip. I wonder what is going on between them because Estella wanted Pip to kiss her on the cheek, but never to speak to anyone about it ever again. I wonder and ask myself if Estella is playing Pip or really does like him. Also will Pip and Estella become a happy couple or are they going to move on and not like each other any more in the future? These are some of the things that I wonder while i'm reading this book, and it makes me think if Pip and Estella will ever be together.
When Pip is out exploring the area around Miss Havisham's house he runs into a pale young gentleman which comes out and confronts him and wants to start a fight with him. The young pale gentleman strikes a few times at Pip and eventually Pip knocks the kid up a few times and then feels bad about it and thinks he will get into trouble later when he gets home.
The part that I am starting to not like about Pip is that he is becoming greedy and selfish and all he wants is money from Miss Havisham and he doesn't work just for her, but for her money.
Is Dicken's going to bring back the pale young gentleman in the future or is he trying to foreshadown something that is going to happen in the future? I think that some of these things will happen again in the future and everything will come together and fill in the puzzle.

Great Expectations pages 1-55
Well here I am again blogging over a book and this time the book is a novel bt, Charles Dickens, Great Expectations. This book so far isn;t my favorite and it is a higher level read, but I think as the book progresses i will get used to it and be more interested in it.
In the first few pages that we have read for this week we find out that Pip is somewhat of a theif and steals from his own home to give to a guy he met in the graveyard. Eventually when they have a family gathering eveyone starts to catch on that things are missing. Wwhen the soldiers came to his place that gather Joe and Pip and they go out to the graveyard with the soldiers and go and capture the thiefs that luve out there.
Later on Pip goes to Miss Havishson's house to go and play and he finds out that her place is really creepy and that she hasn't seen day light since she was born. To me she is a little strange and kind of creepy in a way.
Well so far this book isn't coming to me, but hopefully later on in the story it will.

Of Mice and Men, pages 75-107
In the pages that i read this week i was very surprised with all that happened. I was really surprised in what happened and how everything happened all so fast.
I didn't really like what was all happening to Lennie towrads the end and i guessed that something bad wasw going to happen to him soon. While i was reading the end of the book i thought to myself maybe Lennie will let go of Curley's wife. I never guessed that Lennie would do such a thing as to kill her by snapping her neck. I figured that with the puppy it would be no big deal to him or to anyone and i didn't think it was at all. When they said thaat Curley's wife was dead i was shocked and it made me think, why didn't Lennie learn or let go of her before it happened.
Also I was surprised at how George was able to shoot Lennie right in the back of the head. I didn't think he would be able to do it after being with Lennie for all those years and he was like a brother to him. Lennie was the person that ruined everything for him, but also he helped with things too.
Maybe George did it because he knew it was the right thing to do to him instead of going a different morew painful way from Curley. Or George did it because he knew he had to and that it would make his life easier and make his future more successful and he could have a dream that he wanted or fun things he wanted.

Of mIce and Men, pages 50-75
In these pages that we read they mainly talked about how Lennie, George, and Candy talk about how they should all combine their money and all live together on their own little peice of land somewhere where they will all be happy together and able to make money and live on the fatta the land. I think that this is a good idea because Candy is unable to really work on his own and make a living on his own so he needs help. My opinion of this is a great and smart idea to do. I think also that this woul be a good experience for all of them to work and live together on a farm.
Also Candy will make up for some of the lack of work that may go on and he will make it a better more clean place to live and work. And also Candy will give and help a lot with the money problem that they have.
Also in the future i worry about that Lennie will get fired because od what he did to Curley if they ever let the cat out of the bag or that a fight will happen again and Curley will beat Lennie and Lennie will be helpless in the fight. I think though that in the future Lennie will fit in with the group and everything will be great and they will respect him.

Of Mice and Men, pages 25-50
In these pages we read about how Lennie and George really met and how George treats Lennie all the time, but yet still looks out for him. I think since George treated Lennie so badly in the past years and how he still treats him bad, I think that George should have to look out for him for everything that happened in the past. At the same time i still think George may do it because Lennie's aunt may have asked him to or just because Geaorge can be a nice guy and is and maybe wants someone to be like a little brotther to him that he can look after.
This next part of the story I don't necessarily like because Carleson, all he wants to do is shoot Candy's dog that he has had since the ancient dog was a pup. I really think this is sad, and Carleson could've put up with the dog longer except that he hated the smell and always complained. At the same time tthough it is a good thing that thay got rid of the dog because it was hurting and it wasn't what you'd call a real handy dog at the time.
The thing i didn'tlike is that Candy really didn't get a choice about if the ancient dog stayed or got shot which was also very sad. Now though Candy will get a new dog to raise, and so will Lennie which will make him happy because he loves animals.

Of Mice and Men
In the pages that we have read this week we meet George and Lennie which have both been really good friends for a long time. George takes really good care of Lennie and watches after him. Whenever Lennie gets into trouble or does something wrong George is always there to get him out of it or help him. The thing is though is that George never lets Lennie have any fun. For instance Lennie had a mouse so he could just pet it, george took it from him and just threw it out in the woods.
George and Lennie are supposed to be at the ranch early in the morning so they can start their first day of work and help out in the morning. Their bad luck though made it so they couldn't work in the morning and they got there late. All because the bus dropped them off ten miles too early.
So when they get to the ranch late the owner there is really mad at them for not being there for work when they were supposed to. Another thing that George does to Lennie that im not so impressed with is that Lennie doesn't get to speak for himself, George always does it for him. So the ranch owner is very mad at them because they weren't there to work early in the morning and he starts off getting to know them and get them situated. Since Lennie can't talk at all George gets everything ready for him and they both fit in eventually.
Until they meet Curley who is just mean to both of them, (and they just got there i mean really give them a break). Curley is mean to George and he can stick up for himself, but Lennie can't because he may get into trouble.
