Something that struck me in these chapters was the green light that Gatsby sat and stared at at the end of Daisy's dock. To me the light was a meaning of new hope for him and a chance in his life to get back with Daisy. Another meaning that i took it as was that he saw it as a new hope for America and another chance for the World to become something better since they were in the era where the stockmarkets were crashing and there were thieves everywhere. We found out later that Gatsby does get to hangout with Daisy and get reunited with her and catch up with her. So to me his dream came true so far.

Another part that I really was caught by was all of the parties that Gatsby holds and the fact that he doesn't even join in with eveeryone whereas he just sits off to the side and observes. I take this as he wants to be the person who is seen with everyone who is famous and be the richest man in town. Also I take it as he wants others to get together so they can connect with each other and make new friends. Gatsby is a very unselfish man and cares for others pleasure and not just his own.

Great Gatsby

This book has many different things that it tries to make you visualize while you are reading. Many of the ways that it tries to make you visualize are, Tom Buchanan's mansion. It makes him and how his self esteem are look and seem really high up on the pole compared to everyone else around him. Many of the character's  names also show and sound like who and what they would be in life.

The ways of the different Eggs are another aspect that you have to visualize and compare and contrast them. Since the West Egg is more and very new they are a very bright and vibrant part of town compared to the West Egg. The people that live in these citiies reflect on who they are and how they live and how they spend money.

The first couple of chapters are very good and make you dig in and want to keep reading and suck all the marrow out of everything you read. Many things are not as easy to see and some things are.
